Why WiFi May Be Bad for You & Harmful in Schools – EMF Explained: Ep 15
Description
WiFi is a convenient way to connect to the Internet, sometimes for free, regardless of where you are. But it’s not without a cost.
You see, WiFi is a form of Electromagnetic Frequency radiation, also known as EMFs, which are generated by all electronic devices. WiFi specifically is a Radio Frequency form of EMF. WiFi routers use radio transceivers to connect to the Internet on either a 2.4-GHz or 5.8-GHz radio frequency band, depending on range and speed.
WiFi signals can travel hundreds of feet, and within a room, whether it be a coffee shop, house, airport, or school, these high-density transmissions multiply as more people connect.
Studies show this exposure can lead to many health issues, such as infertility, DNA fragmentation, neurological damage, and even cancerous tumors.
Kids are even more susceptible to the harms of EMF radiation, and early exposure has been linked to behavioral problems like ADHD, memory & cognitive impairment, & an increased risk of obesity, asthma, and depression.
While there are many benefits of technology in schools, there may be hidden health risks.
It’s impossible to avoid all WiFi, but you can reduce exposure by turning off routers when not in use or by connecting to the internet using Ethernet cables.
